ABOUT ME

My name is Sarah Kandrot, and I am a final year PhD researcher in the Geography Department at University College Cork (Cork, Ireland) studying under the supervision of Prof. Robert Devoy, Dr. Fiona Cawkwell, and Jeremy Gault (CMRC).  A graduate of Boston University, I received my BA in Earth Science in May 2009. I completed a Higher Diploma in Geography with first class honours at University College Cork in May, 2010, and I completed a Masters in Coastal Zone Management and GIS at UCC in September 2011, also with first class honours. I was awarded a 3-year full fees PhD scholarship by the Geography department at UCC. My PhD research involves investigating coastal dune morphodynamics using terrestrial laser scanning (TLS). My main research interests are in coastal morphodynamics, marine environments, climate change and paleo-environments, sea-level rise, the impacts of climate change on coastal and marine environments, sedimentology/stratigraphy, terrestrial laser scanning, and geographical information systems (GIS).
